Founded in 1881 as a village blacksmith, Togo Seisakusho Co., Ltd., known as the "Togo Spring Company," has expanded its business globally with a focus on small automotive springs. With our company motto of "Serving society with products that are better than yesterday," we are a leading manufacturer of small automotive spring products, strongly driving the market. Our main products are hose clamps, which are parts made of circular metal plates. As a spring department store, we have a wide variety of springs that meet the needs of our customers. In 2020, we were selected as one of the global niche companies by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, and we are proud of our manufacturing that makes full use of advanced technology. It is highly rated in the market.

At the company, the Digital Promotion Department is in charge of internal infrastructure while promoting visualization within the factory. From April 2023, the Digital Promotion Office, which has been promoting IoT in the field, and the System Development Division of the General Affairs Department, which was the information systems department, have been merged into one new department, which utilizes various information acquired in the field. We are accelerating Digital Manufacturing and creating new added value while linking well with core systems.

Task

Production numbers were written on paper...The site was operating on analog operations.

The company, which is promoting Digital Manufacturing centered on its digital promotion department, has been training in-house experts and promoting in-house production in order to make full use of image processing in factory processes to aid in product inspection. There is. This required visualization of the entire process.

Mr. Ota: Up until now, work sites had been operated in an analog manner, such as recording the number of products produced in a process on paper. Just as we were working to improve our expertise in image processing technology internally, we also wanted to digitize the information obtained on the factory line and visualize the entire process.

Looking back on those days. By increasing the visualization of processes, the company aimed to create an environment where management could visualize the movement of intermediate inventory and the cash flow of each factory, and instruct optimal production plans based on the data. .
