"Digitalization Solutions for Japan's Manufacturing Industry: The Challenge of Human-Centered Production Technology DX"

Contents:
The manufacturing innovation concept "Industry 4.0" that originated in Europe tends to be decided in a top-down manner. On the other hand, the strength of Japanese manufacturing is the advanced know-how of the engineers who support the manufacturing site.
Taking advantage of this strength, we have evolved our production system by continually improving on-site.
For this reason, it is currently difficult to introduce the concept of "Industry 4.0" as is.

In this lecture, we will introduce the "Digital Triplet," a digitalization concept that has evolved to suit the Japanese manufacturing industry as a solution to this problem. We will also discuss the background of the "Digital Triplet" and the current situation in Japan in more depth through a discussion with Professor Yasushi Umeda, a leading authority on the "Digital Triplet."

"Data collection" is essential to realizing a smart factory.
Among these, there are particularly many barriers to collecting data from production sites.
In reality, data should not be collected randomly, but rather it should be standardized and accumulated.
However, in an actual production site where there are many pieces of equipment and products with different uses and specifications,
Accumulating standardized data is extremely difficult, which is an obstacle to the efficient deployment of the system.
