Splunk ".conf (dot conf) 2016" participation report DAY0

I participated in Splunk's global user conference ".conf 2016" held in Orlando, Florida, USA from September 26, 2016.

The venue this time was Disney World in Orlando, Florida, not Las Vegas, which is the venue every year. Since the venue is on the east coast, I usually take a flight in the evening after I go to work on business trips to the US on the west coast, but this time I got up at 4:00.
The flight time from Japan was a long 16 hours, but I arrived safely at Chicago O'Hare Airport while I was sleeping watching a movie, and after lunch I arrived at Orlando Airport.

When we arrived at Orlando airport, we saw cumulonimbus clouds and lightning in the sky. I was nervous in the plane, thinking that the plane was going to be struck by lightning. A sudden hot wind hits the outside of Orlando Airport. There was also a large fan.

This time, in addition to the hotel that will be the venue, hotels in the surrounding area are also being guided as lodgings for participants. When we arrived at our hotel, we saw someone wearing a Splunk slogan T-shirt.
When I greeted them, they said, "Hi! Splunker!"
There was mosquito repellent spray in the room. Is it because of the Zika fever? I felt that Japanese mosquito-repellent incense was more effective.

The venues for ".conf 2016" are two hotels, the Disney World Dolphin Hotel and the Disney World Swan Hotel. Ahead of it was a splunk ninja.

The event registration is a mechanism to log in from the terminal by yourself and print the label. It was a very smooth reception.

A yacht parka will be distributed to participants. The line was long even though it was the day before.
It is an event that attracts 5,000 people.
You can specify the size of the yacht parka on the event application site in advance and choose whether it is loose or tight.

And what stood out was the eco bag on the shoulder.
A welcome party was held at the exhibition booth, and eco-bags were distributed containing a splunk water bottle and glass cleaner.
There was a Splunk goods corner in the next room. Globally, t-shirts with slogans are very popular. There were also bags, USB 2 port chargers, license plate covers, mascot pony stuffed animals, smartphone lenses, and other goods that I had never seen before.

After drinking lightly at the welcome party, we moved to the hotel bar. The bar we visited was said to be one of the 100 restaurants in the world.

After that, late at night, on the day of my arrival, I fell into bed with jet lag, looking forward to the next day's keynote speech.
