HyperLynx SI is a transmission line simulator.

By inputting the topology before designing the board and analyzing the signal quality, and importing the PCB design data, you can analyze the signal quality based on the wiring results. Board rework can be reduced by conducting transmission line simulations before board manufacturing.

Functional overview

HyperLynx SI allows two main types of transmission line simulation.

  • Transmission line pre-simulation (LineSim): Simulation is possible at the circuit board design stage
  • Post transmission line simulation (BaordSim): Enables simulation after board layout

HyperLynx SI supports a variety of features that allow it to be used like an oscilloscope or spectrum analyzer.

Digital oscilloscope

The digital oscilloscope is a function that visually confirms the behavior of the transmission path.

For pre-simulation, input topology, and for post-simulation, capture board layout information. You can check the behavior on the panel by setting the probe to the point where you want to check the behavior.

Crosstalk

A magnetic field is generated when an electrical signal flows through a wire. This magnetic field affects the signals in adjacent wires. HyperLynx SI can analyze crosstalk not only between wires on the same layer, but also between layers.

EMC (ElectroMagnetic Compatibility) analysis

It is becoming necessary to design in consideration of the radiation field generated by the substrate. HyperLynx SI enables EMC analysis with antenna probes and current probes using spectrum analyzers.

HyperLynx SI's EMC analysis function can be used to confirm compliance with each country's EMC regulations (VCCI / FCC / CISPR, etc.).

multi-bit analysis

An independent input pulse can be set for each net. By setting the input pulse for each net, it is possible to perform analysis considering the situation.

Multiple signal waveforms for the same signal can be cut out and superimposed for display. By overlaying waveforms, you can visually check waveform variations due to the effects of noise and jitter.

Routing analysis between multiple boards

It is possible to simulate transmission paths between multiple boards, such as a set of two boards such as DIMMs.
