Semiconductor strain sensor STREAL

Semiconductor strain sensor STREAL

Overview

Macnica 's "STREAL" is a semiconductor strain sensor that is extremely small, highly accurate, and consumes low power. Conventional large-scale strain measurement systems have been integrated onto a semiconductor chip measuring just 2.5mm square, making it possible to incorporate the system into devices.

STREAL's high-precision sensing enables early detection of abnormalities, understanding of the appropriate lifespan of parts, and high precision of equipment, contributing to the digitalization of infrastructure facilities and production sites and increasing the added value of equipment.

What is "strain"?

"Strain" refers to the amount of deformation that occurs when an object expands or contracts due to an external force.
