Infineon Automotive Microcontroller Lineup

Infineon offers a range of cutting-edge 32-bit microcontrollers that offer high performance and future-proof security solutions.

This page introduces Infineon's automotive 32-bit microcontroller products, TRAVEO™ T2G, PSOC™, MOTIX™ MCU (SoC) based on Arm® Cortex®-M technology, and AURIX™ using TriCore™ technology. Infineon's broad portfolio of microcontrollers provides scalable, high-performance solutions for a variety of applications in the automotive market.

AURIX™ Family (TC3x, TC4x)

The AURIX™ family offers superior real-time responsiveness and computing power, and is more advanced than other automotive microcontrollers. As a result, it has a proven track record in powertrain applications such as engines and transmissions, as well as safety applications such as ADAS.

In addition, the latest TC4x series offers a dramatic improvement in performance with up to six lockstep cores operating at up to 500MHz.

All products in the TC3x series and TC4x series provide cutting-edge embedded safety and security features for the automotive industry, complying with ASIL-D, the highest automotive functional safety standard, and are equipped with an HSM to comply with EVITA Full, the highest automotive security standard.

TRAVEO™ T2G Family

The TRAVEO™ T2G family improves performance over previous models by integrating processing power and network connectivity into a single Arm® Cortex®-M4F and dual Arm® Cortex®-M7F, and also features six power modes to minimize power consumption across the ECU. This makes it particularly suitable for body and infotainment applications, and as some models also include a built-in graphics engine for clusters, it has been adopted in a greater number of applications than the previous generation TRAVEO™ family, such as instrument clusters and head-up displays.

All products in the TRAVEO™ T2G family provide cutting-edge embedded safety and security features for the automotive industry, complying with the ASIL-B automotive functional safety standard, and are equipped with an HSM to comply with EVITA Full, the highest automotive security standard.

AUTO PSOC™ Family

AUTO PSOC™ (Programmable System On Chip) is a mixed analog and digital programmable device consisting of a single Arm® Cortex® M0/M0+ CPU.

It has been adopted in a wide range of applications, including HMI and U/I using CAPSENSE™ technology, as a sub-microcontroller for integrating various sensors using built-in operational amplifiers and low-power comparators, and in infotainment, head units, battery management systems, and sensors.

In addition to the advantage of being able to integrate peripheral analog and digital ICs, the products support various communication interfaces such as LIN, CAN, and CAN FD, and some products have built-in LIN transceiver functionality, helping to reduce the BOM of customer systems.

MOTIX™ MCU Family

MOTIX™ MCUs are SoCs that combine a 32-bit Arm® Cortex®-M based microcontroller with flash memory, analog/mixed-signal peripherals, communication interfaces, and drive stages on a single chip. They support relay, half-bridge, full-bridge DC motor, and brushless motor applications, providing a comprehensive solution for advanced motor control applications.

In particular, it contributes to cost reduction through space saving and minimal external components, enabling diverse and flexible designs. It can be used in body applications such as window lifts, sunroofs, and wipers, and in powertrain and thermal management applications such as auxiliary pumps, HVAC fans, and engine cooling fans.
