1. Overview of the AURIX™ TC3xx Series
What is AURIX™
AURIX™ is the general name for Infineon's high-performance automotive microcontroller product family, and the TC3xx series is the second generation of the AURIX™ family.
The AURIX™ TC3xx series is equipped with a CPU that utilizes Infineon's proprietary 32-bit integrated architecture, TriCore™, which excels in real-time performance. Designed specifically for automotive applications, it offers high performance and safety, running at up to six cores at a high speed of 300MHz. It meets ASIL-D (the highest level of functional safety) defined by ISO 26262, and by incorporating an HSM, it can also meet EVITA-Full (the highest level of security).

2. Main Features of the AURIX™ TC3xx Series
High functionality
The AURIX™ TC3xx series enables advanced applications such as Chassis & Safety, Powertrain & xEV, and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems).
In addition, the large-capacity flash memory, high-performance multi-core processor, and rich communication interfaces allow system integrators to integrate multiple microcontrollers/ECUs on a single chip, leading to cost reductions and board size reductions. Furthermore, the high-performance features provide ample resource buffering, making it possible to use SOTA (Software Over The Air) to add new functions and support system updates in the future.
Functional Safety
With the introduction of ADAS and other technologies, automotive electronic control systems have become more complex, requiring higher levels of functional safety. This led to the publication of ISO 26262 in 2011. System integrators must ensure system safety even if a function or component fails. The AURIX™ series was specially developed as a Safety Element out of Context (SEooC) that can achieve ASIL-D for the functional safety specified in ISO 26262, supporting the realization of automotive applications that require a high level of functional safety.
The AURIX™ series has safety and test functions implemented in hardware, such as lockstep, LBIST, MONBIST, and MBIST. System integrators must implement some safety measures in software based on Infineon's functional safety documentation.
In response to this, Macnica provides and supports HITEX's safety solution "SafeTpack," which can help customers reduce man-hours and development time, making development easier.
Security
The AURIX™ TC3xx series is equipped with a Hardware Security Module (HSM) that is compatible with EVITA-FUll, the highest level of automotive security standards, making it ideal for automotive applications with special requirements for safety functions.

Evaluation Board
Infineon offers a variety of evaluation boards to meet the needs of customers developing with AURIX™ microcontrollers.
Lite Kits
Infineon offers Lite kits for customers who are new to AURIX™ microcontrollers.
Although Lite Kits have some limitations on functionality, such as the number of pins that can be used, they are the most suitable evaluation boards for introducing AURIX™ microcontrollers because they allow you to verify their operation at a low cost.
TriBoard Kits
TriBoard Kits are general-purpose evaluation boards based on AURIX™ microcontrollers, allowing you to quickly start software development, evaluation, and testing.
Socket types are also available, and as long as the package is the same, chips can be replaced, making them suitable for early development.
Application Kits
AURIX™ microcontrollers also offer evaluation boards specialized for various applications, such as gateways and radars.
