Automotive LDO product overview
Infineon has over 20 years of experience developing and adopting power supply ICs for automotive applications, and offers a lineup for a wide range of uses.
Among them, LDOs are broadly divided into four types of lineups, with emphasis on high precision, low noise, and low Iq."High Performance LDO",Ideal for sensors and off-board loads that track an external reference voltage"Tracker", placed after the DC-DC converter, it can pass a large amount of current in response to low output voltage. "Post Regulator", for special applications such as antenna power supplies"Application Specific"There is a series.

Tracker
The Tracker is designed to power sensors off-board, and in addition to excellent voltage accuracy, it has various protection functions against overvoltage, overheating, reverse polarity, reverse current, etc. With its robust design andAEC-Q100compliant package, the Trackeris the ideal solution for protecting sensors and ECUs in harsh environments.
High reading accuracy
When powering analog (ratiometric) sensors, the accuracy of the sensor readings is significantly improved compared to when using a regular LDO. In a comparison with Infineon, the accuracy when using a regular LDO is around 2%, but by using a tracker, the latest products can improve this to 0.1%.
protective function
Off-board sensors are more likely to short out due to the external environment. The tracker's features include reverse current protection, a high voltage output terminal of up to 40V, overcurrent protection, and overheat protection, so that reverse current does not flow in the event of a short to the power supply, and the ECU can be instantly protected.

Post Regulator
Post-regulators are called so because they are designed for use in a stage after a DC-DC converter or other device has stepped down the voltage. They are ideal for applications that require low voltage and high current, such as infotainment, camera modules, radar, dashboards, and displays.

Application Specific (LDO for antennas)
A key feature of LDOs aimed primarily at antennas is that the output current limit can be adjusted using an external resistor, enabling robust and flexible solutions. Power consumption is optimized to extend the life of active antennas, improving reliability and safety.
