Coherent's vertical integration strategy enables a unique combination of DSP and optical designs that deliver superior performance and scalability.

Supporting both SFF-8636 and CMIS management interface standards ensures broad compatibility with existing network infrastructure.

With a seamless upgrade path that utilizes the QSFP28 ports of existing systems and the ability to transmit over long distances, 100G ZR QSFP-DCO is a versatile solution.

Additionally, the Flextune™ auto-tuning technology helps dramatically simplify operations with zero-touch provisioning.

Optimizing capital investment through transponder function integration

To keep up with the rapid increase in communication traffic caused by AI/ML, IoT, metaverse applications, broadband services, etc., service providers need more advanced solutions to enhance the bandwidth of their access edge networks. Conventional optical transmission systems require the introduction of new optical conversion devices called transponders, which poses challenges such as investment costs, power consumption, and securing installation space.

Operational results

By implementing the Coherent 100G ZR QSFP28-DCO optical transceiver in Furukawa Electric's 100GbE-compatible multi-service router FITELnet FX2, we achieved 100Gbps long-distance optical transmission in a real-world environment.
