MEP100 Overview
In conventional software-based ST 2110 implementations, packet processing can lead to high CPU and GPU utilization, which can interfere with the operation of applications that are intended to be implemented. As a result, high-performance servers and GPUs are required, increasing system costs.
Furthermore, because redundancy processing according to ST 2022-7 is also performed on the host memory, memory bandwidth and PCIe bandwidth consumption doubled, increasing the load on the entire system.
MEP100 Features:
The MEP100 is equipped with a dedicated ST 2110 acceleration engine to solve the following challenges:

Powerful SMPTE ST2110 Acceleration Engine:
It takes advantage of high-performance FPGA acceleration to achieve smooth and efficient ST 2110 transfers without CPU overhead.
○ ST 2110 Packetizer/Depacketizer: Seamlessly processes ST 2110 streams with high accuracy and reliability.
Hitless Protection (ST2022-7): Prevents media content loss by receiving packets through fully redundant dual 100G ports without compromising data flow performance.
○ JPEG XS compression/decompression: By incorporating the JPEG XS codec compression/decompression core into the FPGA, ST2110-22 is realized without placing a load on the CPU/GPU.
○ Traffic flow control based on PTP timing: PTP timing integration maintains precise synchronization and traffic management.
High-performance DMA controller: Macnica 's high-performance DMA controller achieves optimal data transfer speeds without CPU intervention.
High-Performance PTP Hardware Time Stamping: Supports PTP hardware time stamping, enabling highly accurate time synchronization. The MEP100 SmartNIC card also incorporates Macnica 's proprietary PTP engine, which is widely adopted in many markets, providing highly reliable and stable time synchronization.

Flexible and easy-to-use M2S SDK
The Macnica Media Streaming SDK (M2S SDK) is a powerful SDK that supports not only Macnica 's MEP100 but also third-party NICs, making it easy to develop media streaming solutions leveraging SMPTE ST 2110.
The intuitive API and rich functionality of the M2S SDK enable developers to quickly build high-quality applications without specialized protocol knowledge. M2S supports MEP100, NVIDIA ConnectX, and other general NICs, and API compatibility allows for high scalability, allowing design assets to be reused even if the NIC is changed.
The main features of M2S for MEP100 are as follows:
Memory management that enables kernel bypass: DMA transfers between allocated memory areas enable efficient media data management and kernel bypass functionality.
○ M2S API: the Company API simplifies media data processing, enabling seamless integration and management of video, audio and auxiliary data.
○ GStreamer Plugin Support: Seamlessly integrate with GStreamer plugins for video and audio sources and sinks.
