AWS Summit Tokyo 2016に出展
Macnica exhibited at the "IoT Pavilion" booth at AWS Summit Tokyo 2016, which was held from Wednesday, June 1st to Friday, June 3rd, 2016!
AWS Summit is a conference that introduces various case studies, latest technologies, and usage methods related to AWS (=Amazon Web Services) cloud, and AWS Summit Tokyo 2016 is the world's largest event among them.
At AWS Summit Tokyo 2016, there was an "IoT Pavilion" booth that gathered IoT solutions using AWS, and this booth featured five categories: "Production", "Equipment", "Prevention", "Safety", and "Retail". We categorize them and introduce cutting-edge examples.
At Macnica, in the "Prevention: Infrastructure Aging Solutions" corner, we collaborated with Acroquest Technology to demonstrate how capacitance sensors are used to measure water levels, send data to the cloud, and visualize it. We exhibited here, so I would like to briefly introduce the contents of the exhibition.
静電容量センサを使った水位可視化デモを展示!
The photo below shows a demonstration of water level visualization using a capacitive sensor, exhibited in the "Prevention: Infrastructure Aging Solutions" section. The water level inside the case in the center of the photo is measured, and the data is visualized. This demonstration is intended for applications such as monitoring water levels from a remote location.

The red circuit board with the LED light on in the photo is the "CC3200MOD LaunchPad," a development platform equipped with a CC3200 Wi-Fi microcontroller module provided by Texas Instruments. It is connected to the FDC2214EVM (blue circuit board) and used to transfer data acquired via Wi-Fi to the cloud.

水位データ可視化の流れ
デモ構成の流れとしては下記の流れで、モニタリングを行っています。
1. 簡易水位センサ(FDC2214EVM)で水位データを取得します。
2. CC3200MOD LaunchPadからWi-Fiを使い、ゲートウェイにデータを送ります。
3. ゲートウェイには3G回線、またはLTE回線のSIMカードを挿入し、AWSクラウドにデータを送ります。
(今回は3G回線のSIMカードを使いました)
4. AWSクラウド上で、データ転送、蓄積、抽出を行います。
5. データのモニタリングをします。

This monitoring screen utilizes the IoT dashboard function of Torrentio, provided by Acroquest.
You can intuitively change the display position of a graph by simply dragging and moving the window, and you can immediately visualize data by selecting the graphs and meters you want to display from the pre-prepared options.

On the final day, which saw the highest overall attendance, the stream of visitors to our booth was constant, maintaining a peak level of activity throughout, making it a resounding success.
Especially since this was an AWS cloud event, many attendees were experts in the cloud but not so familiar with devices. We listened to their various device-related concerns, and in addition to the demonstration exhibits, we also showcased devices such as CiP-1 and SensorTag. These were very well received by attendees, and we received many requests from people who wanted to try them out.
Other booths were also showcasing various solutions, suggesting that IoT in our daily lives will continue to develop rapidly.
