What is TDNOG?
TDNOG stands for Tohoku Network Operators Group, and is a group established by network engineers and students from the six Tohoku prefectures and Hokkaido to deepen their knowledge and friendship. Participation from outside the six Tohoku prefectures and Hokkaido is also welcome, and lively discussions are held on Internet technology and operations.
A very homely atmosphere at the TDNOG9.0 Meeting in Morioka
The ninth TDNOG9.0 was held on May 17, 2024 at Iwate University in Morioka, Iwate Prefecture. Approximately 70 people participated on-site, including many first-time participants and participants from outside the six Tohoku prefectures and Hokkaido.
NOG's highlight program announced!
The following program presentations were made at TDNOG9.0, some of which were unique to Tohoku and Hokkaido, and participants seemed to listen with interest.
・Introducing the benefits of introducing 3rd Party Optics and troubleshooting examples
・I tried quantum cryptography communication using WDM
・A thorough explanation of the importance of optical connectors: the unsung hero that supports IT networks!
・Current status and issues of fairness control
・An example of Iwate University's network and industry-academia-government collaboration
-Why not try entrusting some of the functions you use in your daily operations to SaaS services?
I also gave a presentation in the program "Introducing the Benefits of Introducing 3rd Party Optics and Troubleshooting Examples." In addition to receiving questions from the audience, I was also able to deepen technical exchanges with the participants of TDNOG9.0, including being approached after the presentation.

Recommend local NOG!
At the end of the program, there were announcements about the next TDNOG, as well as announcements about other regional NOGs, such as those in the Chubu region. This was my first time participating, but there were programs unique to regional NOGs, and I felt that I could experience a different atmosphere from JANOG (JApan Network Operators Group), so if you're interested, why not come and check it out?
