Texas Instruments DLP Series: What is the difference between Video Mode and Pattern Sequence Mode for ALC products?
ALC products have two methods of sending data to the DMD. One is Video Mode, in which the controller receives video streaming data, applies gamma correction and other image processing, and transfers it to the DMD. This mode supports 24,20,16,10,8 bit data.
The other is Pattern Sequence Mode, which displays the patterns held in the memory for each gradation data. There is no additional processing function for the image, and it is a mode that displays as 1-8 bit data.
