The Questa* - Altera® FPGA Edition and Questa* - Altera® FPGA Starter Edition FIXED licenses do not support remote operations such as remote desktop, so this error occurs along with the Fatal License Error window "Unable to checkout a viewer license necessary for use of the Questa* - Altera® FPGA Starter Edition graphical user interface. Vsim is closing."

FLOAT licenses do not have this limitation.
