Analog Devices Switching Regulator: Can you tell me the role of diode D1 (between VOUT and LDO) on the LTC3114 evaluation board?
D1 is added to configure the bootstrap circuit.
By connecting to the LDO pin via a Schottky barrier diode (SBD), efficiency is improved by supplying power to the gate driver circuit from VOUT of the switching regulator without using the LDO of the internal power supply from VIN.
*When using this connection, be careful of the maximum absolute rating of the LDO pin.
