(hereinafter "Macnica"; head office: 1-6-3 Shin-Yokohama, Kohoku-ku, Yokohama; Representative Director and President: Kazumasa Hara; capital: 11,194 million yen), a total service/solution provider in semiconductors, networks ALTIMA Company is pleased to announce that it will implement a model project using "AI body surface temperature detection devices" to more effectively implement COVID-19 with Kohoku-ku, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture (hereinafter "Kohoku-ku").

According to the WHO, COVID-19 (COVID-19) affected 104 million people worldwide as of February 4 and is still raging around the world.
Japan also in Japan, the state of emergency continues to be declared for some prefectures, and rapid changes in the social structure, such as new lifestyles, are required amid the infection situation that varies from region to region.
In Kohoku Ward, it is also an important issue to maintain the administrative function while taking appropriate COVID-19 measures, and to continue and promote citizen services safely and securely.

The AI-based COVID-19 model project being implemented by Kohoku Ward and Macnica will use IEI's AI body surface temperature detection solution. This solution uses AI and infrared thermography to instantly detect body surface temperature (with an error of ±0.3 degrees) even when wearing a hat or mask. By recognizing and measuring the human face, it reduces the possibility of false positives and enables detection in less than one second.
Kohoku Ward has started introducing the device to infant health checkups. In fact, it has been possible to measure the body surface temperature of infants without any problems, and it has greatly contributed to the smooth provision of administrative services, such as ensuring social distance between the person taking the test and the person being tested, and eliminating waiting lines for body surface temperature measurements and disinfection.
In addition to infant health checkups, we are considering using this system for Kohoku Ward projects, etc.
