Product Summary
EnOcean refers to energy harvesting wireless communication technology, and is the name of the company that developed this technology and holds the basic patent. Founded in 2001 as an independent company from Siemens of Germany, it develops and provides solutions for wireless sensor technology that does not require a power supply based on energy harvesting.
ROHM is a regular member of the EnOcean Alliance, an organization that promotes next-generation wireless communication standards, and sells EnOcean products based on battery-less wireless wireless communication technology that uses energy harvesting.
Product features
- World's first wireless communication technology with minimal energy
- Energy harvesting wireless switch/wireless sensor
- The only battery-less wireless communication solution (patent)
Product lineup
EnOcean products are being adopted not only in Europe and the United States, but also in Japan as wireless devices that operate with little energy harvesting. I had a strong desire to do so. Therefore, we have started providing samples of frequency band products that can be used commonly in major Southeast Asian countries.

As a product for Southeast Asia (921.4MHz), we have developed two models (a temperature sensor module and a USB type transmission/reception module) based on products for Japan that have a proven track record in the market. Products for Southeast Asia (921.4MHz) can be used in major Southeast Asian countries, but cannot be used in Indonesia, Cambodia and the Philippines. (868.3MHz version is available in the Philippines)
Product ①: Temperature sensor module STM 431T
It generates electricity with weak indoor light and operates without batteries. By generating electricity with solar cells and storing surplus power in the built-in LiB, it is possible to continue operation for a certain period of time without light irradiation. Ambient temperature is obtained from the temperature sensor built into the IC.
GPIO (Analog Digital) allows for sensor expansion and custom firmware implementation via connector. It periodically wakes up and wirelessly transmits data. The shape and pin arrangement are exactly the same as STM 431J. You can use the same firmware that was made for the STM 431J.
Product ②: USB type transceiver module USB 500T
This is a USB dongle type receiving module that can be connected to a PC. The module normally works as a receiver and requires a sufficient power supply from a PC or gateway USB port. The received telegrams are sent to the host PC via URAT ESP (* format).
The shape and connector are exactly the same as the USB 400J.
*EnOcean Serial Protocol A serial protocol for EnOcean communications formulated by the EnOcean Alliance
