PS8338
DisplayPort™ dual-mode source demultiplexer that accepts one DisplayPort™ input and provides two selectable DisplayPort™ outputs. Dual-mode DisplayPort™ sources are supported with downstream level-shifting cable adapters (dongles) for HDMI™/DVI display compatibility.
Supports higher data rates for DisplayPort™ 1.2
・ Link rate: 5.4Gbps (HBR2), 2.7Gbps (HBR), and 1.62Gbps (RBR)
・AUX channel rate: 720 Mbps (Fast AUX) and 1Mbps (Standard AUX)
Supports TMDS clock rates up to 300MHz with dual-mode operation
・ Supports DVI, and HDMI™ 1.4b (1080P 3D@60Hz / 4Kx2K@24Hz or 30Hz)
・TMDS™ data rate up to 3.0Gbps (TMDS™ clock rate up to 300MHz)
・Supports both Type1 and Type2 dual mode cable adapters
DisplayPort™ repeater/redriver uses AUX channel interception, or “AUX snooping,” to pass native DisplayPort™ signals from a device input to a selected DisplayPort™ output (only one output can be selected at a time) It works as a device. It provides optimal signal integrity by directly regenerating and driving the main link amplitude and pre-emphasis levels requested by the sink during the DP link training process. This enables DisplayPort™ PHY compliance at the system output receptacle, ensuring robust interoperability with display devices regardless of display cable length.
When passing a TMDS signal from a dual-mode source, the dual-mode DisplayPort™ output supports external level shifter-based DisplayPort™ to HDMI™ /DVI dual-mode video adapters (dongles). Compatible with both Type1 and Type2 dual mode cable adapters.
Output hot-plug detection pins can be configured to enable automatic port switching and device power management. Automatic output squelch function disables the output when there is no input signal. Device operation and configuration can be controlled by device pin settings or I2C bus control.
Dual-mode DisplayPort™ can be used in the same circuit assembly as the source device or remotely, such as in a notebook docking station. To maintain optimal signal integrity, the device includes an automatic equalizer at the input that compensates for PC board, connector, and cable losses.

PS8339
A 1:2 demultiplexer connected to the output of a dual-mode DisplayPort™ source device. Repeat dual-mode DisplayPort™ signals from the DisplayPort™ output, or HDMI™ or DVI signals from the TMDS™ output.
Supports higher data rates for DisplayPort1™ 1.2
・ Link rate: 5.4Gbps (HBR2), 2.7Gbps (HBR), and 1.62Gbps (RBR)
・AUX channel rate: 720Mbps (Fast AUX) and 1Mbps (Standard AUX)
TMDS™ DVI/HDMI™ output supports TMDS clock rates up to 300MHz

・TMDS™ data rate up to 3.0Gbps (using TMDS clock rate up to 300MHz)
- Source device driver support including Type2 dual-mode DisplayPort™ cable adapter registers
By passing a dual-mode DisplayPort™ signal from the device's input to its DisplayPort™ output, it operates as a DisplayPort™ repeater/redriver device. When the source device is in TMDS™ mode, the AC-coupled TMDS™ signal is converted from the output to a DVI or HDMI™ compliant signal using an internal level shifter. The buffered DDC path through the device is connected to an internal I2C register configured as a Type2 dual-mode DisplayPort™ cable adapter resistor according to the VESA® DisplayPort™ dual-mode standard. This allows dual-mode source device drivers to recognize the 300MHz functionality of the level shifter feature.
The dual-mode DisplayPort™ output also supports external level shifter-based DisplayPort™ to HDMI™ /DVI dual-mode video adapters (dongles). Output hot-plug detection pins can be configured to enable automatic mode switching and device power management. Automatic output squelch function disables the output when there is no input signal.
Dual-mode DisplayPort™ can be used in the same circuit assembly as the source device or remotely, such as in a notebook docking station. To maintain optimal signal integrity, the device includes an automatic equalizer at the input that compensates for PC board, connector, and cable losses. When using DisplayPort™ outputs, the repeater/redriver feature uses AUX channel interception, or "AUX snooping," to enable it to respond to the cable drive requirements expressed by the sink device during link training. This enables DisplayPort™ PHY compliance at the system output receptacle, ensuring robust interoperability with display devices regardless of display cable length.

PS8469
A 1:2 demultiplexer connected to the output of a dual-mode DisplayPort™ source device. An internal retimer circuit is used for jitter cleaning for both native DisplayPort™ signaling and TMDS™ signaling enabled in dual-mode operation.
Supports DisplayPort 1.4:
・Link rate - 8.1Gbps (HBR3), 5.4Gbps (HBR2), 2.7Gbps (HBR), and 1.62Gbps (RBR)
TMDS™ DVI/HDMI™ output supports TMDS™ clock rates up to 600MHz:
・Supports DVI and HDMI™ 2.0b (up to 4K@60Hz)
・TMDS™ data rate up to 6.0Gbs
・Includes Type2 dual-mode DisplayPort™ cable adapter resistor to simplify source device driver support
Passing a dual-mode DisplayPort™ signal from the device's input to the DisplayPort™ output acts as a transparent DisplayPort™ jitter-cancelling repeater device. When a dual-mode source device is outputting a TMDS™ signal, the AC-coupled TMDS™ signal is jitter cleaned and converted to a DVI or HDMI™ compliant signal at the TMDS™ output using an internal AC-DC level shifter. will be done. The buffered DDC path through the device is connected to an internal I2C register configured as a Type2 dual-mode DisplayPort™ cable adapter resistor according to the VESA® DisplayPort™ dual-mode standard. This allows dual-mode source device drivers to recognize the ability to support level shifter functionality.
The dual-mode DisplayPort™ output also supports external level shifter-based DisplayPort™ to HDMI™ /DVI dual-mode video adapters (dongles). Jitter cleaning applies to both DisplayPort™ and TMDS™ modes. Output hot-plug detection pins can be configured to enable automatic mode switching and device power management. Automatic output squelch function disables the output when there is no input signal.
Dual-mode DisplayPort™ Can be used in the same circuit assembly as the source device or remotely, such as in a docking station. To maintain optimal signal integrity, the device includes an input equalizer that compensates for printed circuit board, connector, and cable losses. When using DisplayPort™ outputs, it includes a transparent output driver feature that uses AUX channel interception or "AUX snooping". This allows it to respond to the output amplitude and pre-emphasis output drive settings presented from DPTX to DPRX during the DisplayPort™ link training process. This ensures DisplayPort™ PHY compliance at the system output receptacle, ensuring robust interoperability with display devices regardless of display cable length.
