Video Insight Search Powered by Edge AI — Taking Video Utilization to the Next Level with "See, Understand, and Search"

Amidst labor shortages and increasing demand for improved operational efficiency, the use of video data is becoming key to creating new value. Against this backdrop of growing demand, edge processing is attracting attention as a means of efficiently and securely utilizing video data locally without relying on the cloud. In addition to achieving low latency, it is possible to reduce communication and operational costs and ensure confidentiality by not sending data externally.

NXP proposes a solution that enables video insight search at the edge, combining the i.MX 95 application processor and the Ara240 discrete NPU. We will demonstrate how this system can handle everything from on-site content analysis and natural language search to playback of relevant scenes, all without relying on the cloud.
