NOR flash memory is a type of non-volatile memory that is used in computers and digital devices because it can be rewritten many times and retains data for long periods of time. Compared to NAND flash memory, it is superior in small data loading capacity and reliability. Among these, products that use the SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) method for data transfer, making it possible to connect to a variety of devices with a minimum number of signal lines, are representative.

Micron Technology's SPI NOR flash memory has series with operating voltages of 1.8V and 3V, and you can choose from a wide range of capacities from 128Mb to 2Gb. Additionally, the Quad SPI-compliant serial bus interface supports transfer protocols (Extended I/O protocol, Dual I/O protocol, Quad I/O protocol).

Because the control method is easy and the data read time is constant, it is used in the following applications.

・For storing boot code (BIOS) of Prosser products and SoC products

・For storing configuration data of FPGA devices

- For storing configuration data and log data that may be rewritten.

Signal line
