Intel® Cyclone® Series FPGAs & SoCs

The Intel Cyclone series are FPGAs developed with a focus on low cost for use in high volume production.

Currently, the performance has improved and covers the performance required by many applications, so mass production in many fields such as consumer equipment, automobiles, medical equipment, industrial equipment, communication equipment, etc. where ASIC was used in the past uses Intel Cyclone series FPGAs.

Intel Cyclone Series Features

The Intel Cyclone series has the following features among FPGAs.

  • low cost
  • Low power consumption
  • Can be developed with free software (Intel® Quartus® Prime Development Software Lite Edition)
  • Products with built-in transceivers are also available (up to 6.144 Gbps)
  • Lineup of products with built-in ARM processor
  • Products with built-in DDR3 SDRAM and PCI Express controllers are also available

If you have trouble choosing an FPGA, first consider whether the Intel Cyclone series can achieve it.

Intel Cyclone Series History

The Intel Cyclone series releases a new family every few years.

In general, newer products have higher performance, lower power consumption, and lower unit prices for the same circuit size, but conversely older products have more pins for the same size.
