AD4857: Buffered, 8-Channel Simultaneous Sampling, 16-Bit, 1 MSPS DAS

The AD4857 is a 16-bit, 1 MSPS data acquisition system (DAS) that simultaneously samples eight fully buffered channels. It has differential inputs with a wide common-mode voltage range. The AD4857 operates from a low voltage 5 V supply, flexible input buffer supplies, and uses a precision low drift internal reference and reference buffer. The AD4857 allows the user to independently configure the SoftSpan range of each channel to match the native signal swing of the application, minimizing the need for additional external signal conditioning. To further maximize the single conversion dynamic range, the AD4857 incorporates Seamless High Dynamic Range (SHDR) technology. When enabled, the input signal path gain of the channel is automatically optimized on a sample-by-sample basis, minimizing the converter noise of each sample without affecting linearity.

LT8440: Power conditioner for APL field devices

The LT8440 is a power conditioner for safe industrial Ethernet ports, used in hazardous and explosive environments. The internal pass transistor is enhanced to efficiently power the load. In the event of a load circuit failure, the FET adjusts to limit power to less than 650mW for line voltages ≤18.5V and less than 35mA for line voltages >18.5V. The internal shunt transistor draws current in parallel with the load up to the minimum guaranteed 500mW for Class A load power ports according to the Advanced Physical Layer (APL) standard, or 20mA for line voltages >18.5V. The line voltage is sensed at two polarity-independent input pins. These pins can be connected before the port rectifiers, allowing the rectifier power dissipation to be factored into the total power limit. The line current is measured as the voltage across an internal sense resistor, and the shunt current and current limit are automatically adjusted according to the line voltage.
