Until now, the Bluetooth A2DP profile is often used on the receiver side, such as Bluetooth speakers, conference call systems, musical instruments, and headsets, while the transmitter side mostly transmits audio from existing products, such as smartphones and tablets. It was a lot of things.

However, in recent years, the use of Bluetooth audio products has progressed, and the number of products that use a Bluetooth module on the transmitting side has increased. As a result, there has been an increase in requests from customers for modules on the A2DP transmission side.

 

In order to meet such customer demands, we would like to introduce the BM83 module from Microchip. In addition to the general A2DP transmission function, there is also a unique function that allows multiple audio receptions at the same time by arranging a competing receiver with the same product.

Microchip has released multiple Bluetooth audio module products, but this is the company's first product with an audio transmission function. This allows you to connect with Bluetooth headphones or speakers and transmit audio.

 

Of course, since it is also compatible with the receiving side, it is now possible to use it in a wider range of applications than the company's previous Bluetooth module products for audio.

BM83 is certified by CE, FCC, ISED, MIC, KCC, NCC, and 6 regions and countries, so it can be used immediately in EU, USA, Canada, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.
Therefore, it is possible to deploy products in these regions while significantly reducing the cost and time required for radio wave certification.

Realize multi-speaker solutions with unique functions

Multi-speaker concert mode usage example

A multi-speaker function is equipped with Microchip's original function.

The diagram on the left shows the connection configuration in concert mode.

When you connect a smartphone and a master speaker and play audio, the audio can be sent from the master speaker to multiple slave speakers and played back with low latency.

This makes it possible to realize more powerful audio applications.

The figure on the left shows the connection configuration for stereo mode.

When the smartphone is connected to the master speaker and audio is played back, synchronized audio is played from the left and right speakers, creating stereo speakers.
