This video (4 minutes 15 seconds) introduces an overview of Altera® Agilex™ FPGAs.

Video overview

Altera® Agilex™ FPGA Features

In today's data-centric world, the need to process, store, and transfer data is exploding, and Agilex™ FPGAs offer industry-leading capabilities in each area. For data processing, the improved second-generation Hyperflex architecture delivers an average of 50% performance improvement and up to 40% power reduction compared to previous-generation FPGAs. Enhanced DSP block architecture adds new numeric formats to more efficiently support AI applications, delivering up to 40 TFLOPS of floating-point performance.

For data storage, Agilex™ FPGAs support cutting-edge memory technologies such as DDR5 and high-bandwidth memory, including HBM2e, as well as Altera® Optane™ persistent memory. For data transfer, Agilex™ FPGAs support PCIe Gen5, a coherent connection to Xeon® processors, providing maximum bandwidth for processor communication. Agilex™ FPGAs support a maximum transceiver data rate of 116 Gbps per transceiver.

Altera® Agilex™ FPGA Series

Currently, the Agilex™ FPGA series includes three products:

The F-Series targets a wide range of general-purpose FPGA applications, offering up to 58 Gbps PAM4 transceivers, PCI Express Gen4 support, and an optional quad-core Arm Cortex A53 processor.

The I-series is an interface-enhanced model that supports high-speed transceivers and PAM4, PCIe Gen5, and CXL up to 116Gbps. All I-series models are equipped with a quad-core Arm Cortex A53 processor.

While details about the M-series are still being released, it is targeted at high-performance memory applications, with many devices expected to feature HBM and support for DDR5 and Altera® Optane™ persistent memory.
