What is a pauln watch?

Weathernews Co., Ltd. is a wearable sneeze counter born from Pollen Project.

How did it all begin?

It's been 10 years since the pollen project started. The original pollen observation machine "Pollen Robo" has been improved and is now in its fifth generation.
We should take on more challenges in the future! So, the person in charge was summoned to a meeting...
Wearable devices are all the rage these days... even watches. The story progresses from there.
Instead of pressing the sneeze counter in the smartphone app, which has been a service for a long time, you can actually press it.
What can you make with a 3D printer?
That's why the wearable sneeze counter "Pauln Watch" was born.

After the planning meeting, we printed out the shape with a 3D printer to check the size on the same day. To the selection of communication chips and parts that enter there.
Koshian was selected as the communication chip considering its size, ease of use, and availability.
Prepare the parts by mail order and create the circuit. The days of running the 3D printer next to me while conducting electrical tests began.
Initially, there was talk of 1,000 pieces, but this year it will be from 100 for the time being. Then, from the talk of polishing the output with a 3D printer, we asked for small lot production because we wanted to distribute beautiful things in the end.
I settled on making a housing with a simple resin mold.
Even after requesting the production of the board and housing, the work did not end, and we asked the development team to produce the firmware and application.
After it became clear that the light from the LED could be seen through, I painted the backside of all the faces, including the spare.
Find a shipping box, cut the bubble wrap, have a manual made, and pack one by one. And to the 100 people who won the lottery!

Prototypes are created with a 3D printer using open source systems and free software.
