What is ADcmXL3021, a high-performance MEMS vibration sensor modularized?

Vibration is one of the important pieces of information for achieving Condition-Based Monitoring (CbM) of motors, pumps, and their component bearings and encoders. Measuring vibration makes it easier to separate mechanical noise from electrical noise and provides additional information about the condition of the machine, improving diagnostic accuracy. 1. Accelerate the development of condition-based maintenance with a complete vibration detection system

The ADcmXL3021 is a complete vibration detection system that combines high-performance vibration detection (using MEMS accelerometers) with extensive signal processing capabilities. It simplifies the development of smart sensor nodes in condition-based maintenance systems with the following features:

 

- Small, mountable form factor optimized for performance in dynamic environments

Full-featured signal conditioning for vibration measurements

Application preprocessing reduces data flow injected into control loops

・SPI data output for industrial networking flexibility

・Electrically and mechanically tested to meet industrial performance requirements

2. Diverse signal processing functions with built-in embedded processing

The ADcmXL3021 includes the following built-in processing: The processed data can be accessed via a serial peripheral interface (SPI).

 

・High speed data sampling (220 kSPS)

・4096 sample record length

・Filter processing

・Window processing

・Fast Fourier transform (FFT)

User-configurable spectral alarms

・Error flag



These built-in processes enable the acquisition of information in the time domain and frequency domain.

3. High-performance MEMS vibration sensor that realizes condition-based maintenance

Analog Devices offers the ADXL354/355, an ultra-low noise 3-axis acceleration sensor that can be used to monitor aging infrastructure, and the ADXL100x series of ultra-low noise, wideband acceleration sensors, but the ADcmXL3021 also has a 25 µg/√Hz This ultra-low noise density supports excellent resolution.


Wide sensing bandwidth from DC to 10 kHz with 5% flatness enables tracking of key vibration features in many devices.
