At our booth, we introduced Tuxera's lineup of file system and device drivers by application and hardware. In addition, participants experienced the importance of file system implementation through demonstrations of three representative software products.

File system protection for external storage “GravityCS by Tuxera™”

・Demonstration overview:

We introduced a demonstration where you can confirm that by using Tuxera's file system, there is no data corruption even in the event of a power outage. We built an environment in which Tuxera's file system "GravityCS by Tuxera™" was mounted on a USB in a Linux OS environment, and used an application called FIO to write to the USB.
A power outage is reproduced by hot-swapping and unplugging the USB during writing. Data writing will be interrupted if the USB is removed, but it will be possible to confirm that there is no data corruption when reinserting the USB.

Even in open source file systems, it is difficult to intentionally cause file system corruption, but if file system corruption occurs in a mass-produced application, it is possible to prevent events such as the inability to read data stored in memory. I'll invite you. It is an important factor to take into account power-down protection for software on the system.

A demonstration was conducted to confirm that data integrity is established by utilizing Tuxera's file system. Power was cut off for both Tuxera's file system and open source FAT environment. Tuxera's file system establishes the latest data at the time of a power outage, so there is no data corruption, but with open source, it is confirmed that the data before and after writing are mixed. The Reliance Series file system is designed to ensure data integrity on the file system without causing corruption due to cross-links or broken links.

Tuxera Reliance Sense™ simplifies data control for NOR flash

Product name: Tuxera Reliance Sense™

Demonstration overview:

We held a demonstration where you could see the simplification of data control. This solution performs wear leveling on Reliance Sense™, so software designers can control NOR flash without being aware of it. During the demonstration, you can experience decentralized wear leveling.

NOR flash is often used as a boot device, but when writing log data, etc., it is essential to control program operations and erase processing. Such operations must be performed taking into account the NOR flash specifications. One of the features of this product is that it takes into account the specifications of the NOR flash and leaves control to Reliance Sense.
