What is OPB?
Visibility into network traffic is crucial for today's digital enterprises.
High traffic bandwidth, distributed architectures, and increasing security threats require IT operators to increase traffic monitoring and analysis across their networks.
In this context, NPBs (Network Packet Brokers) are attracting attention, and among them, OPBs (Open source based NPB) is an NPB that combines cost, flexibility, and scalability.
While typical NPBs are expensive and have a strong vendor lock-in, OPBs have the following advantages:
・Cost reduction: Significant cost reduction compared to commercial NPB
・Flexibility: Functions and configurations can be freely customized according to requirements
- Scalability: Can handle increased traffic by utilizing x86 servers and DPDK (Data Plane Development Kit)
・Interoperability: Can be integrated with various vendors and open source tools
*What is NPB?
A device that collects, replicates, and filters traffic before it is sent to network monitoring and security tools.
