For businesses in urgent need of compliance! Explains how to comply with PCI DSS Ver.4 3.5.1.2 (prohibition of disk encryption)
Ver. 4 of the PCI DSS, a security standard for safely handling credit card member data, has been released, and all companies are required to comply with it by March 31, 2025.
One requirement that may require a major change in configuration is "Requirement 3.5.1.2 Disk encryption not allowed." Until now, disk-level encryption was permitted for any electronic media on which PAN information was stored, but from Ver.4 onwards, disk-level encryption will not be permitted for anything other than removable electronic media, in other words, for servers with database functions, etc.
In this seminar, we will explain the background to the ban on disk encryption and provide countermeasures.
