Today's sophisticated targeted attacks and internal fraud are sometimes carried out using what appear to be legitimate credentials, devices, or tasks. This makes it difficult to determine whether a user's behavior is normal or malicious, making detection by existing solutions or the human eye increasingly difficult. Exabeam uses machine learning (UEBA) on collected logs to generate normal behavior patterns for each individual and device. When abnormal behavior that deviates from normal behavior patterns is detected, the risk level of that behavior is automatically scored and displayed on the Exabeam timeline, providing notifications.

What makes Exabeam unique is that it uses Exabeam's patented technology to automatically link target logs to people or devices and organize them chronologically, creating a timeline of each user's actions. This applies not only to logs of abnormal actions (alerts, etc.), but also to all logs, including logs of normal actions (access logs, etc.). All actions are displayed as a story on the timeline, making it easy to compare and confirm previous and subsequent actions, as well as normal actions, allowing even operators without specialized knowledge to quickly assess threats and understand the situation.
