I participated in Splunk's global user conference ".conf 2016" held in Orlando, Florida, USA from September 26, 2016.

Breakfast is the same huge dining hall as yesterday. A huge vinyl tent that can feed 5,000 people. The scale is different.

and release a new version. The search and command input screens have been considerably enhanced.
Also, although it is only in English, an interactive command conversion tool that converts questions into SPL search commands was introduced, which surprised me.

After lunch, I attended individual sessions. Since there are more than 100 individual Splunk sessions, it is recommended to create a timetable in advance using Excel or the like.
This time it's the IoT security session that I'm paying attention to.
Splunk has a track record in analyzing IoT data, and I was able to learn about security countermeasure proposals and case studies from how to acquire that data.

Splunk collects and analyzes all sorts of data, and I think the advantage of using it is that it can be used as a lens for that analysis, which allows for various perspectives.

A user interview video was also played, but it was interesting to see the scenery of Splunkers' workplace. I thought it would be interesting to display Splunk vertically.

On the evening of the first day, a social gathering for Splunk users from around the world, the "Search Party" was held.
In Las Vegas, it was a hotel pool, but this time it was in Florida, so it was a charter for Disneyland. When I was at the party venue, not many people gathered, and the foreigner next to me said that all the attractions were free! No wonder no one came.

Even at Disneyland, security measures in the United States are solid, and there was a security check guard before entering the park.
