Q1: What is your current job and what is rewarding about it?

Tackling social issues with AI
Customer Success

The Customer Success Department, where I work, has the mission of utilizing cutting-edge technologies such as AI to create unprecedented business models and solve social issues.
With the desire to "create a business model that will become a new pillar for Macnica" and "contribute to society through technology" in mind, I am working on formulating business strategies and making proposals to customers.

I am mainly in charge of a video analysis service that detects abnormalities and signs of accidents and suspicious behavior. It is used for security in buildings and shopping centers, and is attracting attention in the facility management industry, where labor shortages are becoming more serious. The security field in particular plays an important role in ensuring the safety and security of facilities, and there is a need to create a sustainable and efficient system.
With these social issues as a backdrop, the number of companies adopting the service I am in charge of is increasing daily, and the business quickly moved from the launch phase to the expansion phase. Although the high expectations from within the company can sometimes feel like pressure, I approach the business with a strong desire to "spread this technology to the world and solve social issues."

Q2: An episode in which you grew

Learning from the voices of those on the ground,
Continuing to challenge honestly

Our team often creates unprecedented cases from scratch, which requires us to structure the client's issues and the path to solving them, and then proceed while negotiating with multiple stakeholders. In this context, I place great importance on "listening to the voices of those on the ground." The first client to adopt our video analysis service was a developer with many commercial facilities in a regional area. They were facing challenges such as rising security guard labor costs and an aging workforce, and it took about a year from the initial proposal to closing the deal, so it was by no means an easy journey.
When we first started making proposals, although we were using cutting-edge AI, we lacked knowledge of the security industry and were unable to make specific proposals that suited our customers' current situations. We were limited to explaining the technology we could provide. So I decided I wanted to create proposals that were tailored to our customers, and I visited security sites many times. I carefully interviewed security guards about what kind of work they were doing and what they were spending their time on, and identified the actual problems occurring on the ground.
As a result, we were able to create a proposal that took into account the real-world situation, and the customer decided to implement the system.

In another security project, we used AI to detect suspicious behavior and then remotely contacted the individual, rather than dispatching security guards to the scene, thereby achieving further operational efficiency. This proposal was made possible by understanding "what the true benefits would be" through repeated direct conversations with customers on-site. Macnica engineers have the technical skills to quickly incorporate customer feedback into our services. This is why it's so important for me to gather as much feedback as possible on-site. While online meetings are becoming the norm, it's only on-site that you can truly hear the "voice" of our customers. I intend to continue to adhere to a "hands-on approach" and face the challenges head-on.

MY VISIONFuture goals and aspirations

In the future, I would like to use AI to create a business that will have a major impact on society. I would like to expand the video analysis services we currently provide beyond the security field into areas such as marketing analysis. I would also like to combine cutting-edge technologies to take on challenges that cannot be solved by a single technology.

I am also interested in creating solutions in completely different fields, such as the entertainment industry. I want to be someone who can always enjoy working on the things I want to do. To achieve this, the ability to start a business and the ability to build relationships are essential.
I believe that it is precisely because Macnica gives a great deal of discretion to young people that I can develop such skills and take on unprecedented challenges. By maximizing my own value and handling larger-scale businesses myself, driven by the energy I have for what I want to do, I hope to create a "future that no one has ever realized before."

Message

The good thing about Macnica is that they support you in the way you choose to work hard.
In my case, I worked hard in the first and second years to build a foundation, then tried out a lot of different things in the third and fourth years to find what I wanted to do, and from then on I focused on one thing and perfected it.I was able to work hard in a way that suited my mindset and level at the time, and I was able to grow a lot.
Interesting work can only be created by people who put in the effort and achieve results, and I am extremely grateful to Macnica for not only supporting me on my journey to get there, but also giving me the opportunity to launch a new business.

In particular, the seniors around me were all strong, kind, and heroic people, so I can proudly say that I grew up in the best environment in Japan.
We hope you will consider living a fulfilling Macnica life working in such an environment!
