Tomomi Koyama

Joined the company in 2004 as a new graduate. Belongs to the Customer Service Department, Operation Promotion Section, Business Promotion Headquarters. For a while after joining the company, I worked hard to manage product orders and shipping. After taking maternity/childcare leave, she has utilized her pre-natal career to serve as acting general manager, managing the business operations team.

Chapter 1A Company with Attractive People and Work Style

Tajima

I'm the only mid-career in this group, but can I ask those of you who joined Macnica as new graduates to tell me why you chose Macnica?

Oyama

The deciding factor for me to join Macnica was the presence of a senior female employee. When I was looking for a job, I focused on three things when choosing a company: ``The work offers variety,'' ``It's rewarding,'' and ``Women can continue working for a long time.'' The person I met was a person who was realizing those axes that I cherished. That person seemed to be shining brightly, and I decided to join the company because I thought, ``I want to become a working adult like this person!''

Takahashi

Like Mr. Koyama, I was also attracted to the people at Macnica. The senior employees I met during the selection process were all really nice people. I was attracted to the company's atmosphere and honestly thought, "I want to work here!" Also, the interviewer was a very friendly person, and I could see that he was trying to bring out the best in me, so I thought that I could work as myself at this company. Also, I'm from Yokohama, so being able to work in my hometown was one of the attractions (lol)

Oyama

I was impressed by how attractive not only the female senior employees were, but also everyone I met during the selection process! Tajima-san, you joined the company mid-career, so why did you join Macnica?

Tajima

Before joining Macnica, I worked in sales at a logistics company. The work itself was fun, but it was quite busy... I wanted to do a rewarding job while also having a fulfilling private life, so I decided to change jobs to a company where I could achieve a good work-life balance.

Oyama

And that's how you met Macnica.

Tajima

That is right. When I was looking for a job, Macnica was recommended to me by a recruitment agency, so I applied for the selection process. During the interview, I spoke to the HR person and said, ``At this company, I can be entrusted with a lot of discretion, and I think it's a rewarding job.'' I am convinced that it is possible to have a fulfilling private life while doing a certain job!” I currently have a 2-year-old child, and now I am able to devote more time to raising my child.

Takahashi

After all, coming to Macnica was the right decision!

Tajima

I really think so. Macnica is a company with a very solid focus.

Takahashi

Be thorough when working. When I'm on vacation, I fully enjoy my privacy. This is one of the characteristics of Macnica. I think Macnica is the perfect company for people who want to enrich both their work and private lives.

Chapter 2Only as a Team Can We Overcome

Oyama

Mr. Tajima, how do you like your work at Macnica?

Tajima

It's really hard (laughs). Managing logistics is not easy. What was planned changes from moment to moment depending on the situation, and it is necessary to respond instantaneously according to the situation. In particular, when it is urgently required to ship the product within the same day, it is necessary to quickly coordinate with related parties both inside and outside the company. However, our work is not done alone. Working together as a team to overcome challenges is one of the rewarding aspects of this job.

Oyama

The sense of accomplishment you get when you overcome a difficult task as a team is indescribable.

Tajima

We at the Logistics Management Department believe that our job is to carry the "baton" passed down by each department to the goal. Because sales and engineers won the business and business operations worked hard to negotiate delivery dates, the products were delivered to Macnica 's warehouse and shipped. The only thing left to do is how we, the anchors, can reach the goal in the shortest possible distance. We are working as ONE TEAM to quickly carry this "baton" to the goal.

Takahashi

Macnica is a company where the idea of "working together to achieve goals" is ingrained in each employee. When I was in charge of product receiving operations, I was pressed for time every day. If I was slow to respond, it would develop into a problem where the shipment of products to customers would be halted, so I was always required to respond quickly. Even in such circumstances, working together with my team members toward the goal was rewarding, and the sense of accomplishment when we overcame difficulties was very great.

Tajima

It makes me very happy when members work together to achieve something. However, Mr. Takahashi's recent work is mainly report writing, so isn't there a decrease in the amount of interaction between employees?

Takahashi

Of course, most of the current work itself is done alone, but I often discuss with my colleagues how we can create accurate reports in a short time!

Tajima

It's nice to be able to talk freely with your boss and colleagues, even if it's a job you do alone!

Takahashi

Mr. Koyama, when do you feel rewarded?

Oyama

There are many times when I find it rewarding. When I could feel the growth of my subordinates, when I was able to achieve a goal as a team, etc. Also, I feel just as rewarding when I'm participating in so-called project activities, which involve in-house reforms such as streamlining operations.

Takahashi

Project activities bring together elite people from various departments.

Tajima

I also participated in the project once about half a year after I joined the company. What aspects of project activities do you find rewarding?

Oyama

Project activities are an opportunity to reform the operations of the entire company. We can deliver our voices fighting in the field to other departments and change the company-wide system. This is a big challenge. Also, as Mr. Takahashi said, I get to interact with the best in each department, so I learn a lot, and it inspires me to say, "I can't afford to lose." If there is a project to be launched in the future, I definitely want to run for it.

Takahashi

Actively raise your hand even if you are busy. As expected of Mr. Koyama, you are so aggressive! Macnica 's business operations require a proactive and proactive attitude, rather than just doing administrative work, and Mr. Koyama is exactly the embodiment of that!

Chapter 2Aiming for Brighter Individuals and Organizations

Oyama

Lastly, may I ask the two of you about your future goals?

Tajima

I was promoted to a managerial position last year, so I would like to fulfill my duties in a management position first. I also believe that Macnica is a company that will continue to evolve, and as a member of that company, I want to firmly support the logistics function and contribute to its significant growth in the future.

Oyama

For us as a trading company, logistics is the foundation of our business. Mr. Tajima's success will lead to the development of the company, so I would like him to do his best!

Takahashi

I want to become a person who can handle a wider range of tasks than I am now. Since joining the company, I have only been in charge of a specific supplier manufacturer. By knowing the supplier manufacturer well, we are currently able to work efficiently, but in the future, we think that we may have the opportunity to entrust work related to supplier manufacturers that we have not been involved with before. I'm here. From now on, I would like to expand the scope of work that I can handle and continue to grow so that I can play an active role no matter which team I am assigned to.

Tajima

Takahashi-san has a high desire to grow! As the manager of the organization, I also want to create an environment that promotes the growth of our members. In order to improve the productivity of the team, my department plans to increase the number of new members in the future. I would like to build a structure and a system.

Takahashi

Mr. Tajima, you are thinking about the growth of the members. I am sorry to say such a big thing in front of the two managers, but I would like to be able to not only do my own work, but also take care of my team members in the future. If possible, I would like to become an excellent manager like you two!

Oyama

I'm very happy to hear Mr. Takahashi say that, but I also think that I still need to grow. I became the deputy director this year, but I am keenly aware that my skills and experience are completely lacking. In the future, I would like to acquire the ability to take a higher perspective and take a bird's-eye view.

Tajima

So Mr. Koyama feels the same way. I am also toned!

Oyama

And I also intend to aim to create a team that is like a "family". We help each other like a "family" and overcome difficulties so that each employee can realize their well-being through their work. I would like to create such a team.
