After working on ordering operations and delivery management for overseas semiconductor manufacturers, Terauchi has been using that experience to support imports and exports since his third year at the company. He is also currently involved in a project to introduce a core system to overseas bases.

Q1: What is your current job and what is rewarding about it?

Turning trust into strength and innovating the company

My current job mainly involves supporting the import of semiconductors from overseas suppliers and exports to overseas subsidiaries. I aim to optimize logistics by selecting and quoting international transport companies, collecting and adjusting information on customs duties, and responding to changes in the situation.

I am also involved in a project to introduce Macnica 's core system as a warehouse manager, organizing system operations while also visiting overseas warehouses to coordinate and provide support for the introduction of the core system.
Communication with overseas staff is generally in English, and differences in language, culture, and business practices make it difficult to get along with them. When I was in charge of supporting the implementation of core systems for local subsidiaries in the US and Germany, and warehouse transfer support in Germany, I was conscious of building relationships of trust by treating the local staff and local partner companies sincerely, without forgetting to show respect and gratitude. It makes me happy and rewarding to know that they trust me, and that they can contact me if they need anything.

One of the great things about Macnica is that when I give my opinion on something that I feel needs improvement in the manuals during my daily work, it is immediately reflected. Working while thinking about how to innovate the company rather than being passive is fulfilling and interesting.

Q2: Why did you choose Macnica?

A supportive environment both at work and in private

When I was looking for a new job, I was looking for a company where women could thrive, and that's how I came across Macnica.
The Macnica employees I met during the selection process were charming and gave me the strong impression of being lively and energetic at work, which made me want to work with them. I still remember a female manager saying, "My work is busy and difficult, but it's a lot of fun," and how envious I felt. During my interview, I was told that Macnica has many female managers and mothers, and I felt that at Macnica I could shine at work while also having a fulfilling private life.

There is absolutely no gap between what I experienced before and after joining the company. It's work, so there are challenges, but I feel reassured because I have many superiors and colleagues who are willing to talk to me when I'm struggling and help me solve problems. When we overcome a challenge together, I feel a sense of accomplishment and joy. I think the idea of "how we can overcome challenges together as a team" is deeply rooted at Macnica, not just in projects but in everyday life as well. The team is always in constant communication, and it's easy to support each other, so I appreciate the ease of taking long vacations. Even among managers, everyone is fulfilled in both their work and personal lives, which I think is wonderful and gives me hope for my own future work style.

Q3: An episode that made you grow

First setbacks and trial and error for co-creation

When I was first entrusted with supporting the implementation of a core system for a local American subsidiary, I lacked confidence in carrying out work I had no experience of in English, and I remember feeling overwhelmed with anxiety when I went there. Due to a lack of experience and the language barrier, nothing went smoothly, and I experienced my first setback since joining Macnica, and many times I wanted to run away. There were times when opinions clashed between me, who was pushing for the implementation of a new system, and the local subsidiary staff, who did not want to change operations, and the project progressed extremely difficult.
To overcome this situation, I had numerous discussions with the person in charge about the optimal operations for introducing the system while understanding how work was done locally, and sometimes even acted as a bridge between the IT department and the local subsidiary to modify the system itself. After taking the time to work through each step, we were finally able to work out the optimal method together with the person in charge and successfully introduce the system. When the person in charge at the local subsidiary told me before I returned home, "We're so glad you were here," I was so happy that I forgot all the difficulties that had occurred up until then. Earning their trust also gave me confidence.

Macnica is an environment where you have the opportunity to take on various challenges, regardless of seniority or age. With superiors who will support you as you take on challenges and colleagues who will walk alongside you, you can overcome challenges that would be difficult to overcome alone.

MY VISIONFuture goals and aspirations

I think that global collaboration will become even more important in order to achieve the company's mid- to long-term goals. Therefore, I would like to become a person who can support and optimize logistics not only in Japan, but also globally, including overseas subsidiaries.

In my private life, I am trying to continue running every day. I feel that running and moving my body is refreshing.

Message

When you think of business operations, you might imagine work being done according to manuals and rules. However, I feel that Macnica 's operations work often involves constantly thinking about what is best and coming up with ideas as you go along.
Our company is constantly changing, so it may seem difficult at first, but the people around you will always help you when you run into trouble. Working together as a team to overcome challenges is fun and very rewarding. Let's enjoy the company's transformation and your own growth together!
