Macnica Releases Macnica Smart Motor Sensor, a Motor-Specific Predictive Maintenance Service ~Reducing Downtime and Optimizing Maintenance Costs for Manufacturing Customers~

Macnica (Headquarters: Yokohama, Japan, President, Kazumasa Hara, hereinafter referred to as "Macnica"), a total Services & Solutions provider in semiconductors, networking, cybersecurity, and AI/IoT, Inc. : Analog Devices) will start offering Macnica Smart Motor Sensor, a solution consisting of products developed by the company.
Macnica Smart Motor Sensor is a DX solution for predictive maintenance with integrated sensor and cloud specialized for low-voltage three-phase motors, helping to reduce unplanned equipment downtime and optimize maintenance costs.

About Macnica Smart Motor Sensor
This solution is an OEM solution provided by Macnica that consists of hardware and dedicated software with ultra-high-precision MEMS sensors developed by Analog Devices. The hardware is installed by attaching a battery-powered sensor to the cooling fins of the motor, and the initial setup is done from a dedicated smartphone app. After starting use, AI-based machine learning will automatically start, and an AI model will be automatically generated to detect anomalies after a certain period of time. As a result, vibration, temperature, and magnetic field data collected from sensors can be checked on a computer, smartphone, tablet, etc., and an alert is notified in the event of an abnormality.
There are 9 types of motor anomalies that can be detected, each of which is analyzed with an independent normal value of 0~10, and users can minimize catastrophic failures and downtime without special knowledge of vibration analysis and AI in these predictive maintenance.

9 failure modes prepared in advance
power system shaft balance alignment
Stator winding (insulation diagnosis) Eccentricity (air gap) cooling system
rotor bearing mechanical looseness

By optimizing the timing of routine maintenance and overhauls at regular operating hours, it is possible to reduce maintenance costs while preventing downtime. In the process of manufacturing a motor that cannot be stopped in a factory, or a process manufacturing process that has a management impact if it stops, optimizing maintenance and overhaul will lead to the operation of the motor at optimal efficiency. Macnica has systematized Digital Synergy Factory (DSF), a service for next-generation smart factories that utilizes knowledge and the latest technology in the manufacturing industry, and will expand its support in the field of predictive maintenance with the provision of Macnica Smart Motor Sensor.
