Easy implementation of OPC-UA server functions on devices that do not support OPC-UA

Macnica (hereafter Macnica, President: Kiyoshi Nakashima, capital: 11,194 million yen) is a company that imports, sells, and develops semiconductors and network equipment. , we are now launching the first* Japanese-made OPC-UA server SDK in Japan. This product is a C language-based SDK, and by incorporating it into industrial equipment, mainly machine tools that do not support OPC-UA, it is possible to easily implement OPC-UA server functions. (*According the Company research)

OPC-UA, which is becoming increasingly popular mainly in Europe and Asia, is the recommended communication protocol for Industry 4.0, and is expected to become more popular in Japan in the future. Additionally, in recent years, there have been many incidents related to security at plants and factories, and the importance of security has been emphasized. The OPC-UA server SDK that Macnica has started providing is under the supervision of Puerto Co., Ltd. (695-31 Aihara-cho, Machida-shi, Tokyo; President: Toshiaki Honda; hereinafter referred to as Puerto Co., Ltd.), a member of the OPC-UA Foundation. It was commercialized by Macnica. OPC-UA is characterized by high security, and this product focuses on this security and supports the most advanced encryption suite (AES256, SHA-256) recommended by the German government. In addition to providing this product, Macnica will also provide Japanese documentation and domestic support, which have been highly requested.

The OPC-UA server SDK is provided in binary form, and is compatible with Windows, Linux, and other OSes such as Tron. We can also provide source code according to customer requests. It can also be easily linked with Ua Monitor (OPC-UA client compatible software) developed by Puerto and sold by Macnica, and can be proposed as a package as a total OPC-UA solution.
In the future, we plan to expand our services to include support for OPC-UA authentication procedures, security solutions to prevent OPC-UA device spoofing, and cloud service deployment.

Macnica will provide this product to machine tool and other equipment manufacturers and the manufacturing industry, and will contribute to customers' business by providing new value for their equipment and by being the first to apply the product to OPC-UA, which is accelerating in popularity.
