File threat countermeasures on cloud services "Trellix (former FireEye) Detection On Demand"

"Trellix (formerly FireEye) Detection on Demand" is a service that works with each cloud product to perform Box analysis of files on the cloud.
Files in multiple cloud services such as Box and Teams are immediately inspected by Trellix's (formerly FireEye) Box (MVX engine), and files determined to be malignant are quarantined in the quarantine folder specified by the cloud service.

Changes in the network environment and issues in using cloud services

Telework and work in public spaces are increasing, and cloud computing is progressing rapidly.
It is difficult to prevent threats with the conventional "perimeter defense model", such as connecting directly to cloud services on the Internet from outside the company and exchanging files on cloud services with other companies. However, although many cloud services have malware detection functions such as antivirus, many of these functions are signature matching, so they can only detect "known threats". Under such circumstances, how can we ensure the safety of "files" exchanged on storage services and groupware?

"Trellix (formerly FireEye) Detection on Demand" is a solution that inspects uploaded files in real time by linking with each cloud service such as Box and Microsoft Teams. We have adopted a Box that has a proven track record in the industry, and it is possible to block and isolate targeted attacks and unknown threats without missing them. Customers who have already introduced a cloud security product such as SWG or CASB should install this product to further strengthen the security of their cloud environment. We recommend that you introduce this product, which is extremely easy to operate, as your first step toward cloud security.

Security levels of perimeter defense model and cloud model

feature

  • Accurately detect malware with a proven Box
    1. Detect unknown threats that cannot be detected by antivirus, and respond to rapidly evolving “targeted attacks”
    2. Uses Box pioneer Trellix (formerly FireEye) proprietary engine to discover unknown threats
    3. Inspect files and URLs with up-to-date “threat intelligence” from the front lines of cyber security
  • Completely cloud-based service, very easy to introduce and operate afterwards
    1. Very easy to link with various cloud services
    2. Since no updates or maintenance are required, it is easy to operate after installation.
