First "5G x autonomous driving MaaS" joint demonstration experiment in the Minato Mirai 21 district

Macnica (hereinafter referred to as Macnica), MM Smart Solution Consortium Executive Committee (hereinafter referred to as MM Consortium), and NTT Communications Corporation Corporation (hereinafter referred to as NTT Com) will conduct the first "5G x autonomous driving MaaS" joint demonstration experiment in the Minato Mirai 21 area. (hereinafter referred to as this demonstration experiment).

1. background
In order to turn the Minato Mirai 21 district into a future city where cutting-edge technology trials are conducted on a daily basis, the MM Consortium will support demonstration experiments in collaboration with the Yokohama Future Organization, a collaborative platform for creating innovation among industry, academia, and the public. This demonstration experiment will be conducted as a project selected for the "MM Smart Solution Program" * 1 implemented by the MM Consortium as a demonstration experiment with an eye on the implementation of autonomous driving utilizing 5G communication in the Minato Mirai 21 district.

2. Overview of this demonstration experiment

A autonomous driving EV bus will run within the grounds of Nippon Maru Memorial Park. In addition, in order to explore the potential of the bus as an entertainment bus, smart glasses "Nreal Air" are installed inside the bus. * 3 Future tourism experience using * Four We hope you enjoy it.
② “Macnica Mobility Data Platform” * Five Remote monitoring of autonomous driving EV buses using
A remote monitoring display for autonomous driving EV buses will be installed at Queen's Circle in Queen's Square Yokohama to provide visitors with information on the operating status of autonomous driving EV buses. The remote monitoring system is a necessary platform for the aim of unmanned operation of autonomous driving EV buses, and this time we will be holding a demonstration for visitors.

3. Role of each company
Macnica: Providing the autonomous driving EV bus "EVO", designing and operating the autonomous driving program for the autonomous driving EV bus, providing operators, tuning, linking remote monitoring systems and vehicles, and implementing system construction.
MM Consortium: Public call for demonstration solutions, coordination with related parties, verification of safety and necessary costs
NTT Com: ``Network customization'' * 6 Building NTT DoCoMo 5G area using portable base stations, providing apps and systems that allow you to enjoy future tourism experiences using ``Nreal Air.''

・Anyone can participate with no participation fee.
・Queen's Square Yokohama Reception will be held in the Queen's Circle. Reservation on the day is first-come-first-served basis.
*Demonstration runs will be conducted after taking sufficient measures COVID-19, such as temperature measurement of the driver and test rider, and alcohol disinfection inside the car before boarding.
*Please cooperate with wearing a mask when visiting.

Five. the next deployment
Macnica is looking to implement autonomous driving buses in the Minato Mirai 21 area, and will continue to work on it with a view to conducting demonstration tests on public roads.
The MM Consortium will work to support innovation in a wide variety of industries and form a business ecosystem that leverages the city's potential, and will develop advanced city development.
NTT Com will support urban development in the Minato Mirai 21 district by utilizing advanced technologies such as 5G and XR.

*2: An autonomous driving shuttle bus equipped with an autonomous driving system. It is an EV (electric vehicle) specification, and can run automatically for about 9 hours (100km) on a single charge.

* 4: Using the smart glasses "Nreal Air" and NTT KonoQ's system, we will provide a new sightseeing and town walking experience that does not require a guidebook, allowing you to see the scenery and surrounding tourist information at the same time through the smart glasses. By registering recommended sightseeing spots and shops in advance and having them use it, you can more intuitively convey the attractions of the area and the spots you want them to visit. Also, with the navigation function, you can enjoy walking around the city to the selected spot while following the guide.


* 5: Collecting sensors (GPS, cameras, etc.) attached to the vehicle and CAN information (vehicle speed, rotation speed, steering angle, etc.) and storing the data in the cloud using a high-quality transmission method. With this, one person can remotely monitor multiple vehicles and access the cloud to check the status of mobility in real time. In addition, the accumulated data can be applied to past situation confirmation, data analysis, and AI utilization.
