Concluded a partnership agreement for urban development utilizing next-generation mobility with Yokkaichi City - Contributing to regional revitalization and improvement of civic life -

Macnica (Headquarters: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, President: Kazumasa Hara, hereinafter Macnica) is a total Services & Solutions provider in semiconductors, networks, cybersecurity, and AI/IoT. ) and concluded a "Town Development Collaboration Agreement Utilizing Next-Generation Mobility."

Macnica will utilize autonomous driving autonomous driving in Yokkaichi City's new town development through demonstration experiments using automated driving vehicles conducted by Yokkaichi City at the "autonomous driving Introduction Study Meeting *¹ (launched in 2019)". We are carrying out service creation activities based on the above.

Additionally, Yokkaichi City is also working towards creating a smart city through the Yokkaichi Smart Region Core Promotion Council * 2, which was launched in fiscal year 2021. Macnica will contribute to the realization of a smart city in the region by participating in this council, taking part in the Data Platform Working Group, and, as the representative company of the Mobility Working Group, introducing next-generation mobility including autonomous driving and creating MaaS businesses.

Through its activities to date, Macnica has been cooperating and collaborating with Yokkaichi City to implement next-generation mobility, and has recently completed this project with the aim of contributing to the promotion of urban development, including further revitalization of Yokkaichi City and improvement of citizens' lives. We are now in a position to conclude an agreement.

Through this agreement, Macnica will take advantage of its past experience in conducting a wide range of demonstration experiments related to autonomous driving transportation services, and will deploy autonomous driving vehicles using NAVYA's ARMA*³ etc. on Chuo-dori Street between Kintetsu Yokkaichi Station and JR Yokkaichi Station. In addition to providing implementation technical support and operation management systems necessary for autonomous driving driving (Macnica Mobility Data Platform *⁴), collecting data obtained from driving and verifying effects, we also provide support for the creation of MaaS businesses. We are working towards the implementation of next-generation mobility through co-creation activities with various related companies, such as linking various mobility data, and contributing to regional revitalization, improving the mobility environment, and realizing a smart city in Yokkaichi City. *1: autonomous driving introduction review meeting
A conference established for the purpose of introducing autonomous driving in Yokkaichi City. The first meeting was held in July 2019, and a total of four meetings have been held so far. This demonstration experiment is positioned as the 5th conference.
In addition, this conference is working with the Yokkaichi Smart Region Core to discuss the introduction of autonomous driving for the creation of a smart city.

The public, private and academic sectors will work together to collaborate and cooperate with each other, and in order to solve the various problems faced by the region, we will utilize cutting-edge technologies such as ICT, including IoT and AI, to enhance the functions and attractiveness of the city and revitalize it. In addition, the accumulated data can be used to check past status, perform data analysis, and utilize AI.
