Macnica and aiMotive Collaborate to Build Data Collection and Processing Environment, Launching Advanced Service that Uses AI to Generate Data Based on Acquired Data - Supporting Acceleration of Data-Driven Development of autonomous driving-

Macnica (headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Kazumasa Hara; hereinafter referred to as "Macnica") announced today that it has collaborated with aiMotive kft. (headquarters: Budapest, Hungary; CEO: László Kishonti; hereinafter referred to as "aiMotive") to build a data collection and processing environment using aiData * 1, the company's data collection pipeline tool, and will launch an advanced service that provides 4D automatic annotation and digital twin data generated from environmental data acquired from cameras and LIDAR on demonstration vehicles.

The amount of data acquired in the development of autonomous driving and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) systems is constantly increasing. Annotation is an essential process in the development of AI algorithms, but current mainstream 2D annotation is done manually, which means that the amount of work increases as the number of sensors and data volume increase.
Furthermore, while the development of autonomous driving requires a huge amount of training data and verification scenarios, there are limits to the amount of data that can be acquired due to constraints such as time and labor costs. In addition, improving the quality of autonomous driving and ADAS software requires data that is difficult to obtain in reality, such as data on weather and accident scenes.
Under these circumstances, it will be necessary to improve development efficiency by moving away from the current hybrid verification method that utilizes real-world data and simulations and instead using automatic annotation and simulation verification tests in the future. Furthermore, in order to develop autonomous driving and advanced ADAS systems, it is essential to improve not only the volume of data but also the quality and variety of the data collected in order to improve system quality.

The data collection and processing environment that Macnica has built in collaboration with aiMotive utilizes aiMotive's software technology to enable the acquisition of more accurate and higher-quality data than conventional data collection systems. Not only does it collect environmental data from the demonstration vehicle's cameras and LIDAR, but it also automatically uses that data to create 4D annotations and reconstruct a digital twin environment, which it then provides. Furthermore, by utilizing aiMotive's digital twin reconstruction technology, World Extractor * 2, it is possible to provide highly accurate maps for any desired location in just a few days. Additionally, by utilizing Macnica 's demonstration vehicle for autonomous driving development equipped with the data collection and processing environment, it can be implemented quickly and at low cost.
In this way, by introducing this service, it is possible to easily create a digital twin of the actual environment and realize highly accurate simulations within that digital environment.

Macnica will use this service to support the development of autonomous driving and ADAS software for Japanese automakers and auto parts manufacturers, and by improving the quality of the software, will promote the development of safer autonomous driving systems, thereby contributing to reducing traffic accidents and realizing a society in which people can move safely and freely.

"We are thrilled to partner with aiMotive to bring our innovative solutions to the next generation of automotive manufacturers," said Peter Kovacs, deputy CEO of aiMotive and senior vice president of aiData.
"Macnica 's solutions will not only address the specific needs of Japanese OEMs developing their own ADAS and AD solutions, but also demonstrate how the Company technology can support innovative development in any market. This partnership, combining Macnica 's deep knowledge of the Japanese market with aiMotive's cutting-edge AI solutions, will deliver unparalleled value to Japanese OEMs and strengthen the bond between our two companies."
