Macnica (Headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Kazumasa Hara; hereinafter referred to as Macnica) announced today that it will sponsor and participate in Japan's first ^{* 1} "Overnight Disaster Experience Camp Event in Kyotanba Town," which simulates a complete blackout and is organized by the "Power Plants Without Borders in Kyotanba Town" Executive Committee, a coalition of the Japan Association of Disaster Relief Specialists and the NGO Power Plants Without Borders. This event will contribute to the creation of the smart grid of the future by simulating and verifying how to achieve energy self-sufficiency in situations where power supply is difficult.

■Purpose of this event
Modern society relies on electricity in every aspect of life, and the impact of a complete power outage would be enormous. Therefore, we will simulate what kind of response would be necessary in the event of an actual complete power outage and verify this through an overnight disaster experience camp with the participation of the general public.
