Creating a comfortable work environment by making the office smarter

In addition to linking customer management systems, sales performance, and sales performance data, the smart office also manages and controls the temperature and humidity in the facility, air conditioning and lighting equipment, and the usage status of each floor and conference room. By doing so, it is possible to improve the operation in the office and create an environment where employees can work comfortably.

While the introduction of smart offices can be expected to create a comfortable work environment and improve employee productivity, the initial cost of installing the latest IoT devices and sensors is an issue.

Features of next-generation smart office solutions

The Next-Generation Smart Office Solution (hereafter referred to as this solution) installs various sensors in the facility and acquires and analyzes data in a way that does not identify individuals, thereby visualizing the movement of people in and out of the office. By monitoring the usage status of desks and equipment, and creating efficient equipment layouts and power usage schedules, we can improve office operations and reduce electricity costs for the entire facility, creating a comfortable working environment.

This solution is characterized by the fact that it can be provided from small to large scale according to the size and budget of the customer, starting with a small start such as one floor, and expanding to one building or multiple locations as necessary. It is also possible.

Centralized management of various office-related data

This solution is equipped with CO2, atmospheric pressure, and temperature/humidity sensors that acquire air quality information, as well as a 60GHz radar motion sensor. It is possible to detect from people to people moving in the area. In addition to the installed sensors, it is possible to capture various data related to the office, such as electricity, gas, and water energy information.

The data acquired by these sensors via Wi-Fi communication is managed and analyzed by the energy management system "Kisense®".

Formulation of plans based on environmental analysis and control of facility equipment

Based on the data and environmental analysis collected in Kisense®, it is possible to formulate plans and control equipment.

For example, environmental data and analysis results obtained from CO2 sensors and temperature/humidity sensors can be used to control air conditioning temperature settings and ventilation systems, and CO2 concentration and seating determination data obtained from CO2 sensors and motion sensors. By displaying the heat map, it is possible to make a distribution plan.

Manage and optimize power usage

In terms of electricity, the amount of electricity used is obtained from the smart meter, and by comprehensively managing the electricity of the entire facility, including solar power generation, storage batteries, EV charging systems, etc., it is possible to avoid the daytime when electricity consumption is high. It is possible to schedule peak cuts in energy consumption and effective power usage, such as by setting the charging of EV vehicles to be completed after the end of work and before the start of work the next day.

System configuration

This solution was made possible by combining an energy management system manufactured by Cleanwatts.Lda (headquarters: Coimbra, Portugal; CEO: Michael Pinto; hereinafter "Cleanwatts"), which is handled by Macnica, with a sensor terminal equipped with semiconductor products using cutting-edge technology manufactured by Infineon Technologies AG (FSE: IFX / OTCQX: IFNNY), a major German semiconductor supplier, and IoT.
