Macnica (headquarters: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Kazumasa Hara; hereinafter referred to as Macnica) announced today that it has provided its dry heat sterilizer "Melt King IOT" to Machida City Hospital (Machida City, Tokyo; Director: Kanazaki Akira; hereinafter referred to as Machida City Hospital), a general hospital in Machida City, Tokyo. The dry heat sterilization device reduces waste volume, thereby reducing disposal costs and CO2 emissions, and also serves as a resource circulation solution that renders infectious waste harmless.

■ The waste disposal problem in Japan is urgently needed
Waste disposal is currently a global issue. There are problems such as waste flowing into the environment due to the increase in waste generated by economic growth, CO2 emissions from transporting and incinerating waste, and limitations in the costs and processing capacity of landfills and recycling. In recent years, problems have also been raised regarding the export of waste to developing countries.
