Macnica launches "Platinum Map," a service that lets users easily create original digital maps

(headquarters: Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo; Board Director and CEO: Miyamoto Akihiro) and will begin offering "Platinumaps," a tourism digital transformation platform that makes it easy to create original digital maps.

After the COVID-19 pandemic, people are now going out more and the tourism industry is reviving. In addition, many tourist destinations are now attracting many tourists from overseas as well as Japan. In response, tourist destinations provide pamphlets and booklet-type tourist maps, but there have been complaints such as "I don't know where to go to get a tourist map" and "It's a hassle to sightsee while looking at the map I got." In addition, tourist maps alone do not provide information on buses operating in the area, so it is necessary to view bus timetables separately.

To solve these problems, local governments and organizations are increasingly digitizing tourist maps. By digitizing, you can get not only tourist information, but also all the services you need for tourism, such as the crowding status of each store, ticket reservations for events, and campaign information, all in one place. In addition, it not only reduces the effort of printing and setting up, but also has the advantage of being immediately available anywhere and eliminating the need to dispose of maps that are no longer in use.

As tourism DX platforms like this are gaining attention, Macnica has begun selling "Platinum Maps," which allows users to easily create original digital maps. "Platinum Map" allows users to place image pins with photos of recommended tourist spots on a digital map, and by tapping on the pins, users can view not only the tourist spot's opening hours but also its congestion status in real time. In addition, the map can accurately display the location information and congestion status of buses and cruise ships traveling on the map, allowing users to travel smoothly to tourist spots while taking waiting times into consideration. In addition, users can participate in a digital stamp rally where they collect stamps by visiting designated spots and receive prizes according to the number of spots visited, and it is also possible to integrate essential tourist services such as hotels and restaurants on a single digital map.

Based on its knowledge of autonomous driving technology and consulting track record, Macnica provides total support to customers as a general contact point for the introduction of autonomous driving mobility services, from planning to implementation and operation. <Platinum Map Overview>

We provide all the digital services you need for tourism in one stop. We can provide not only real-time bus and cruise ship operation information, but also audio guides in 11 languages, detailed information such as store introduction videos and menus, etc. Furthermore, we also support data analysis using Platinum Maps, such as the number of visitors to specific tourist spots, and coupon acquisition and usage rates.

Platinum Map allows you to choose a usage plan according to the number of registered spots. Since it is possible to start small with low initial costs, it is also possible to gradually expand the number of registered spots according to the response and requests of users.

Platinum Map data can be registered intuitively through the management screen. Registered data is reflected on the map instantly. Automatic translation is also supported (11 languages in total), and it is also possible to register spots in bulk using Excel. In addition, the dashboard screen allows you to analyze in real time which spots users are paying attention to. Data that could not be obtained from paper pamphlets can be visualized.

By installing IoT devices compatible with the MICHIBIKI satellite positioning system in mobility vehicles such as tourist buses, shuttle buses, trucks, and commercial vehicles, the location of the mobility vehicles can be displayed on a map in real time.

Through the companion app "Platinumaps CONNECT," store and facility staff can freely register, edit, and update information about their facilities. Through the companion app "Platinum Map Connect," the congestion status (status) of stores and facilities can be reflected on the map in real time. Waiting times before entering the store can also be distributed.

You can set a period and hold a stamp rally. You can keep track of users' stay time and visit rate.

■ Electronic coupons
You can distribute coupons that can be used in actual stores on a map. Combined with a stamp rally, you can expect to attract more customers. It also has a function to count the number of times a coupon has been used and to tally the number of times it has been used.

■ Digital floor map
You can digitize floor maps (floor guides) within facilities such as shopping malls, theme parks, event venues, etc. Maps within facilities that could previously only be expressed on paper can now be digitized.

It can be equipped with a reservation function for bicycle rentals, event tickets, etc. Users can view available spots on a map and make reservations directly. It also has a reservation confirmation by email and a reservation management screen.

Platinum Map is compatible with digital signage as standard. You can display the floor map you created on digital signage and post it at the entrances of stores and facilities to use as a guide board.
