Macnica conducts world's longest public road test run of Level 4 autonomous driving vehicle "EVO" in Kaga City* ~ Experiencing the future of transportation from Kaga Onsen Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Yamashiro Onsen ~

*The world's longest public road driving demonstration will be conducted by Macnica 's autonomous driving vehicle, "EVO."​

Macnica (headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Kazumasa Hara; hereinafter referred to as Macnica) will be conducting the world's longest public road demonstration in Kaga City with GAUSSIN MACNICA MOBILITY's EVO ^{* 1,} a Level 4 autonomous driving vehicle with no steering wheel, accelerator or brake pedals.

In this demonstration experiment, we will investigate and demonstrate technologies that can be used as one of the means to optimize transportation using an autonomous driving EV bus, evaluate the possibility of introducing autonomous driving in Kaga City, and with the aim of verifying the technology with a view to future social implementation, we will challenge together with Kaga City to demonstrate the world's longest public road driving demonstration of an EVO, 10 km (round trip) from Kaga Onsen Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Yamashiro Onsen. We also believe that by verifying these, it is possible to expect that other municipalities will use them as a model case.

On Saturday, March 16, 2024, Kaga Onsen Station became a stop on the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line extension. Macnica Kaga Onsen Mobility Service (KAGA) will be utilized to provide transportation services to the three hot spring resorts, Yamashiro-onsen, Yamanaka-onsen, and Katayamazu-onsen, where the demonstration experiment is being conducted, in addition to the main stations in Kaga City. Through the construction and operation of a data linkage infrastructure, we aim to create new services and realize a smart city using next-generation mobility and urban OS, such as autonomous driving.

* Public test drive event: April 20th (Sat) to 21st (Sun), 2024
*The event may be canceled in the event of bad weather.
■Time: 10:00-15:35 (6 flights per day)
*However, from the 20th (Sat) to the 21st (Sun), the service will run until 4:35 p.m. (7 flights per day)

■Route: Starting and ending at AEON Kaganosato store,
Round trip between Yamashiro Onsen Soyu (drop-off only) and AEON,
Passing by AEON and Kaga City Medical Center
A round trip route to Kaga Onsen Station Rotary (disembarking only)

The EVO is an autonomous driving shuttle bus equipped with an autonomous driving EV system. It is an EV (electric vehicle) and can run autonomously for about 9 hours (100km) on a single charge.
