Macnica signs partnership agreement with Hitachiota City to promote urban development utilizing next-generation mobility - Promoting diverse urban development starting with regular operation of Japan's first autonomous driving EV bus EVO -

Macnica (headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Kazumasa Hara; hereinafter referred to as Macnica) announced today that it has signed a collaboration agreement with Hitachiota City, Ibaraki Prefecture (Mayor: Miyata Tatsuo) to promote urban development utilizing next-generation mobility.

Currently, Hitachiota City has incorporated the plain area (approximately 26 ha) into the urbanization area in May 2019 as a new urban development area (eastern area of Hitachiota City), and Macnica has become an attractive new urban area. , we are promoting the development of commercial facility land in collaboration with the local community, with the aim of improving the shopping environment and creating new jobs by taking advantage of the location along the National Route 349 bypass, and promoting sustainable town development into the future. We support the social implementation of autonomous driving EV buses through autonomous driving demonstration experiments and events on public roads using autonomous driving EV buses.

Macnica will utilize its extensive track record and experience in urban development to date to operate autonomous driving vehicles that are unique to Hitachiota City, autonomous driving provide the technical support necessary to run the vehicles, acquire data and verify the effects of the vehicles, as well as link data including mobility, and create MaaS businesses and services, in order to create a sustainable city of Hitachiota City. In addition to the data acquisition and verification of the effects of driving, the project will also support the development of a sustainable city of Hitachiota City through data collaboration including mobility, and the creation of MaaS businesses and services.
