Kure City, Hiroshima Prefecture (Mayor: Niihara Yoshiaki) and Macnica (Headquarters: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Kazumasa Hara; hereinafter referred to as Macnica) will hold a study session on the latest technologies with Kure National College of Technology as well as conduct a social transportation experiment to introduce next-generation mobility that embodies that technology, as part of the efforts under the "Comprehensive Partnership Agreement to Support the Challenges of Young People Who Will Lead the Next Generation" concluded in March 2023.

2. Transportation social experiment aimed at introducing next-generation mobility
As part of the comprehensive partnership agreement, "Formation of a compact city using cutting-edge technology," autonomous driving EV buses will be driven on public roads in order to understand the challenges of introducing next-generation mobility and to foster residents' awareness. To do.
It will also run along Brick Street (inside the arcade) and work with local shopping streets to revitalize the region and create a new flow of people.
Implementation date: Thursday, January 18, 2024 to Sunday, January 21, 2024 Scheduled to depart from Kure Station between 11:00 and 15:30 each day

■Demonstration operation of new mobility using autonomous driving technology, etc.
autonomous driving is a system that uses cameras, sensors, GPS position information systems, etc. to recognize the surrounding situation, and autonomous driving system makes predictions and judgments and operates the steering wheel, accelerator, and brakes. The vehicle we will be using this time is ARMA * 1, a autonomous driving EV bus that does not have a steering wheel, accelerator, or brake pedals.

ARMA is an autonomous driving shuttle bus equipped with an autonomous driving system. It is an EV (electric vehicle) model and can run automatically for about 9 hours (100 km) on a single charge.
