Macnica signs partnership agreement with Ureshino City to promote smart city development using DX solutions - Promoting the resolution of local issues and the development of diverse towns using digital technologies -

Macnica (headquarters: Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture; Representative Director and President: Kazumasa Hara; hereinafter referred to as Macnica) announced today that it has concluded a collaboration agreement with Ureshino City, Saga Prefecture (Mayor: Murakami Daisuke) to promote smart cities using DX solutions.

Macnica is the first in Saga Prefecture that utilizes next-generation mobility, which is currently being implemented by Ureshino City as part of the Ureshino City Future Technology Regional Implementation Council*¹'s efforts to solve regional issues and create liveliness in the city. We support service creation activities that utilize autonomous driving vehicles through autonomous driving demonstration experiments and events on public roads.

Macnica and Ureshino City have entered into this collaboration agreement to further accelerate and expand these efforts, and will promote diverse urban development using DX solutions to not only demonstrate and implement next-generation mobility, but also to revitalize various industries such as education and agriculture.

Macnica will utilize its extensive experience in urban development and various DX solutions to promote Ureshino City's Smart City, including the operation of autonomous driving vehicles in Ureshino City, autonomous driving technical support necessary for driving, data acquisition and effectiveness verification from driving, as well as data collaboration including mobility and the creation of MaaS business. In addition to providing the necessary technical support for driving, acquiring data obtained from driving and verifying the effects of driving. Through these efforts, we will create new value by upgrading social services and solving problems, thereby contributing to the creation of a city that enriches the lives of its citizens.

Ureshino City applied for the Cabinet Office's ``Future Technology Social Implementation Project,'' which supports initiatives that aim to solve local issues by utilizing future technology, and was selected in August 2021. In response to this, the council was established in November 2021 in order for the national government, prefecture, private businesses, local related organizations, and the city to work together to advance the project. There, we examine and discuss the content of the project, as well as exchange and discuss ideas for social demonstration and implementation.
