Macnica participates in autonomous driving demonstration experiment in BSD City, a suburb of Jakarta, Indonesia - First mobility service demonstration experiment in Indonesia using NAVYA ARMA -

Macnica (Headquarters: Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture, President: Kazumasa Hara, hereinafter referred to as Macnica) is a total service and solution provider in semiconductors, networks, cybersecurity, and AI/IoT. In a joint venture with Chiyoda-ku, Miyako and President: Katsuya Nakanishi, we will conduct a demonstration experiment of a mobility service using autonomous driving buses, the first in Indonesia * 1, in BSD City * 2 on the outskirts of Jakarta, Indonesia. . Through this demonstration experiment, Macnica will verify the transportation convenience of autonomous driving mobility services and support efforts to realize a smart city in BSD City.

This is the second public announcement of JICA (hereinafter referred to as "JICA") in FY2020 "SMEs and SDGs Business Support Project ~ Dissemination, Demonstration, and Commercialization Project (SDGs Business Support Type)~" to realize a smart city autonomous driving This verifies the creation of mobility services through the use of vehicles. The term of the outsourcing agreement with JICA is from December 10, 2021 to September 29, 2023, with the aim of solving the problems faced by developing countries, overseas expansion of Japanese private companies, and revitalization of the Japan economy by utilizing the excellent technologies, products, and ideas possessed by Japanese private companies.

In this PoC, Macnica will operate its autonomous driving bus "NAVYA ARMA * 3," which has no steering wheel, accelerator or brakes, for one year in the office area and commercial facilities that are the center of activity within BSD City. This will enable the company to understand the needs of local residents, workers and visitors to BSD City, verify the transportation convenience of autonomous driving mobility services, and investigate the possibility of future business expansion in the area.

In this PoC, Macnica will utilize its track record in operating PoC for autonomous driving transportation services in Japan to verify the effectiveness of transport convenience in the region toward realizing smart cities in Indonesia, while also working to create and expand mobility service businesses in the ASEAN region.
