The Seventy Seven Bank, headquartered in Sendai, Miyagi Prefecture, is a leading regional bank in the Tohoku region. Founded in 1878, the bank has earned the trust of many customers thanks to its nearly 150-year history and community-based management approach. The Seventy-Seven Bank announced its 10-year management plan, "Vision 2030," in May 2021. This marked a groundbreaking turning point, breaking away from the traditional three-year medium-term plans and outlining the "vision" the bank aspires to become as a regional financial institution over a long-term 10-year perspective. Facing changes in social structure such as a declining population, an aging population, the COVID-19 pandemic, and digitalization, the bank sought to envision the future through "backcasting" rather than simply extending its medium-term plan.

"Vision 2030" lists digital transformation (DX), new businesses and fields, human resources, and financial foundations as key factors for going beyond traditional financial intermediation and carving out a new future. As part of this, the bank has decided to work on developing IT infrastructure and digitally reforming its employees in order to realize digital reform of its banking business through DX.
